Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

ChatTCP is a TCP packet analysis tool. We take the privacy rights of our users very seriously, and therefore have established this Privacy Policy to clarify how we collect, use, and protect users' personal information.

2. Data Collection

ChatTCP provides user login functionality through Apple and GitHub authorization. We do not provide registration services. When you choose to log in, we may collect the following information:

  • User unique identifier
  • User avatar
  • User nickname
  • Email address (if available)

We do not track your analysis activities or store any packet analysis data.

2.1 AI Diagnostic Assistant Data Processing

When you use the AI diagnostic assistant feature, we provide AI analysis services through a third-party AI aggregation platform, OpenRouter. OpenRouter forwards requests to specific AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). AI actively retrieves the data needed for analysis based on your questions through function calls. This process involves:

  • AI retrieving relevant packet content from the currently analyzed PCAP file based on your questions
  • Your conversation messages with AI
  • AI analyzing the retrieved data and providing diagnostic results

Important Note: Only when you actively use the AI diagnostic assistant feature and ask questions will AI retrieve relevant data for analysis as needed. If you do not use the AI diagnostic feature, your packet data will not be retrieved by AI or sent to any third parties.

3. Data Usage

The personal information we collect is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Synchronizing membership status between ChatTCP and ChatUDP products, as well as AI assistant user message quotas
  • Providing network packet analysis services for AI diagnostic assistant (only when you actively use this feature)

We will not use your personal information for any other purposes without your explicit consent.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
  • With your explicit consent
  • For providing AI diagnostic assistant services, sharing necessary packet analysis data and conversation messages with third-party AI aggregation platform (OpenRouter) and its underlying AI model providers (only when you actively use AI diagnostic features)

Regarding AI service data sharing: We only retrieve relevant data through function calls and send it to OpenRouter for processing when you explicitly choose to use the AI diagnostic assistant and ask questions. OpenRouter may forward your data to specific AI model providers. We do not store your conversation records with AI, nor will we use this data for other purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

For AI diagnostic assistant services, we securely transmit data to OpenRouter through encrypted connections (HTTPS). We recommend that you confirm that the packet data to be analyzed does not contain sensitive personal information or business secrets before using AI diagnostic features. We also recommend reviewing OpenRouter's privacy policy as well as the privacy policies of related AI model providers to understand the complete data processing chain.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

For AI diagnostic assistant features: We do not locally store your conversation records with AI or packet content retrieved by AI through function calls. This data is only temporarily transmitted to OpenRouter and its underlying AI model providers during the AI analysis process, and is deleted after processing is complete. Please refer to the privacy policies of related service providers for specific data retention policies.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be notified to users through our official website or within the application. The updated policy will be effective from the date of publication.
